Orifice Plates & Venturies
Orifice Plates: These are thin plates with a precisely sized hole (orifice) in the center. When fluid flows through the hole, it creates a pressure drop that is proportional to the flow rate. Orifice plates are commonly used for measuring and controlling fluid flow in pipelines, tanks, and industrial processes.
Venturis: Venturi tubes consist of a converging inlet section, a throat, and a diverging outlet section. As fluid passes through the narrowing section (throat), its velocity increases and pressure decreases. This change in pressure is used to calculate the fluid flow rate. Venturis are effective in accurately measuring fluid flow in a variety of applications, including water and gas systems.
Both Orifice Plates and Venturis play vital roles in monitoring and managing fluid flow, making them indispensable tools in industries such as oil and gas, water treatment, and manufacturing.
